OUR STORY

For more than 13 years, our journey has been shaped by passion, growth, and an unwavering love for dogs. It all began in 2012, when Hannah opened the training side of the business (Down Home Dog Training, LLC) at just 19 years old. In 2022, she and her husband Mick expanded into Down Home Dog Resort, bringing structured Playcare and boarding to life. Since then, families from Crawford County, across Pennsylvania, and even beyond state lines have entrusted us with their beloved pets.

A New Name, A Deeper Purpose
With the opening of our second location, we knew it was time for a name that reflected not just what we do, but why we do it. That’s how Meraki Canine LLC was born.

The word Meraki is Greek, meaning to put your soul, creativity, and love into everything you do—to leave a piece of yourself in your work. This word captures our heart and purpose. It embodies our mission to provide not just services, but experiences that enrich lives—through safe, supportive boarding, innovative Playcare, professional training, and genuine community connection.

catering to all breeds, ages, and skill levels, including unique offerings like Out & About Training, which builds real-world adaptability and strengthens the bond between dogs and their people.

training programs in Erie, PA and partnerships with trusted facilities like Lucky Dog Stay & Play to serve even more families.
