GROUP CLASS PUPDATE

Our NEXT OFFICIAL round of Group Training Classes will begin in JUNE 2024, due to our trainer taking Maternity Leave in May 2024.
Please check back for Upcoming schedules around mid-May 2024.

Which Group Class is right for my dog?

Each Group Class has been specifically designed with progression in mind.

Session #1 of ALL Core Curriculum Courses is Owner Orientation specific to that particular Group Class, where you will learn more about the class itself and what to expect. These Orientations will also help guide you in becoming a more responsible dog owner and a more confident advisor to your canine best friend.

Elective Courses do NOT have an Owner Orientation, unless stated otherwise.

Tuition Fees also INCLUDE a Course Kit, to help your dog get off on the right "paw" for class.

Our Core Curriculum Courses are listed first.
Our Elective Courses are listed second.

Additional Elective Courses (not listed) may be found on our registration site itself.

AKC FIT Dog / TotalDog Bootcamp

This course is available for
all dogs and puppies
ages 6 months and older,

that have completed (at least) our Elementary Level Program.

"The American Kennel Club is committed to improving and maintaining the fitness and health of all dogs and their owners. AKC FIT DOG titles were designed to provide a structured, individualized fitness plan that you and your dog can do together.

There are 3 levels of AKC fitness titles—Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Each title requires a specific number of activity points to be completed, which varies based on title level.

Within each level, there are 6 categories of activities to choose from to earn your points.

AKC FITNESS TITLE CATEGORIES:

1. AKC FIT DOG Course

2. Runs (community runs such as a Turkey Trot, Spring Scurry, etc.)

3. Walks and hikes (Independent or Group)

4. Unique to You and Your Dog (e.g., swimming, Parkour)

5. AKC title that is fitness related (e.g., FAST CAT, agility)

6. AKC Parent Club Performance Titles (e.g., pack dog, sledding)

For each of the 3 levels of titles, a minimum number of points must be earned in at least 2 categories for the title to be awarded."

AKC FIT DOG titles are noncompetitive, and dog owners may choose different activities to earn titles.

This program merges PERFECTLY with our TotalDog program, as we focus on FUN and FITNESS (both physical AND mental) with your furry best friend!

This is an 8-Session Course, with NO Owner Orientation and Session #8 being Assessments & Graduation. AKC FIT Dog testing will be available at Session #8.

**NOTE: This is NOT an obedience-based class. This is an ACTIVE class, that will require things like walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, etc. Please keep this in mind when registering!**

Out & About Obedience

This course is for
all dogs & puppies
ages 6 months and older.

A twist on one of our most popular group classes, Out & About Obedience focuses on a wide variety of obedience, socialization and manners concepts "out & about".

What does this mean?

We train your dog IN the Real-World FOR the Real-World.

It's one thing to train a dog to listen indoors, with little to no distractions present.

But can they generalize their commands when you take them to the park? What about on a walk downtown? Can they stay focused, calm and respectful when in a pet-friendly store?

In this class, we challenge you and your dog to work OUT of your comfort zone. We focus on working through triggers that may cause your dog to become reactive**, overly excitable, etc. and how they should behave instead.

This course is truly "one-of-a-kind", and EXTREMELY beneficial for teaching your dog how to be a well-mannered member of society. (It is also a great "stepping stone" class for dogs that recently graduated from one Core Curriculum level but aren't quite ready to move onto the next level yet.)

This is an 8-Session Course, with Session #1 being Owner Orientation and Session #8 being Assessments. There is no formal testing offered at the end of this course.

**Please note: OVERLY reactive and aggressive dogs need to be worked with in a different program than this course, in order for them to get the most out of training. If your dog is reactive to other dogs/people, to the point that they completely ignore you, please contact us so that we can customize a training program specifically for your individual needs.**

Please ask us for more information or help on registration!)

Ready 2 Rally

This course is available for
all dogs and puppies
ages 6 months and older
,
that have completed (at least) our Middle School Level Program.

"Think of an AKC Rally event as any team sport: You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer him through a course of 10-20 different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The dog and handler move continuously throughout the course with the dog under control at the handler’s left side. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. Although each performance is timed, having a good race time is not the goal; it’s all about working as a team while performing the skills, with the dog under control. As one of the world’s most famous basketball players, Michael Jordan, once said, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” When you participate in an AKC Rally event, you get to show off both: Your dog’s talents and the teamwork between you. Started in 2005, AKC Rally is a fun family sport and participation increases each year. All dogs are welcome to participate in AKC Rally, whether purebred or mixed breed. It’s a perfect starting point for those who are new to canine sports, as AKC Rally provides a challenging introduction to all AKC Companion Events for dogs and handlers to strengthen their skills."

This course will focus on learning the various Signs, as well as how to read (and properly execute) a Rally course.

This is an 8-Session Course, with NO Owner Orientation and the option to try for an AKC Virtual Rally title at Session #8!
